Our buisness concept

Our objective is to consistently provide the most competitive prices in the market, comparing our offerings within the same category of accommodation. We achieve this by exclusively implementing self-service check-in, which means we do not have a reception desk at any of our properties. Communication with our guests is conducted via phone or email.

 

All essential aspects of your stay—including check-in procedures, confirmations, access codes, and payment details—are managed seamlessly through straightforward email correspondence. We utilize advanced door lock technology that generates a unique access code for each guest. However, rest assured that we are just a phone call away should you require any additional assistance. That said, our team will, of course, come to the location to assist if the issue cannot be quickly and effectively resolved over the phone.

 

By making your reservation directly through our website, you will automatically receive an additional 5% discount on top of the already competitive prices listed on our booking platform.

House rules

We kindly request that guests return the kitchens to a clean state and ensure all items are placed back in their designated spots.

 

Please be advised that silence is expected throughout the property after 23:00. As we are not a party venue, any form of gathering or disruptive noise is strictly prohibited during these hours. We are committed to enforcing our house rules to ensure that all guests can enjoy a restful stay in preparation for their travels. Failure to adhere to the silence policy may result in the suspension of your stay at your own expense, without refund.

 

For your safety and security, we have a high-quality surveillance system in all common areas and outside our properties. Additionally, our security partner, Securitas, conducts checks three times nightly to ensure everything is in order. Our fire alarm system is directly connected to Securitas, who can respond within minutes in the event of an alarm.

Good to know !

  • Keys

    • All our doors are equipped with high tech but simple door locks that you can access anytime. Two days before your arrival you will receive an email within detailed in-check instructions and your personal door code. No worries we are always standby 24 hours via phone if you need any assistance with your check in.​

  • Parking

    • All our properties provide complimentary parking, both on-site and on nearby streets.​

    • Please be mindful not to block any vehicles and adhere to local driving regulations. Improper parking, such as on sidewalks or in restricted areas, can result in significant fines, so we encourage you to exercise caution.

  • Laundry

    • G19 provides laundry machines in all apartments, along with dryers available in apartments 103 and 104.

    • E18 offers a laundry machine exclusively in apartment 8.

    • Akureyri Cottages features both a laundry machine and a dryer for your convenience.

    • Please note that Akureyri Hostel does not currently offer any laundry services.

    • For guests staying more than four days, we strive to assist with laundry needs.

  • Wi-fi

    • We provide complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi in all our apartments, rooms, and common areas. You will receive the access password in your check-in email.

  • Luggage store

    • Both Akureyri Hostel and Akureyri Cottages offer luggage storage services.

    • While E18 and G19 do not currently provide locked luggage storage, we try to assist with your luggage needs if possible.

  • Check in

    • Check-in is available from 16:00, and check-out is required by 11:00.​

  • Emergency number in Iceland is 112, this is for police, ambulance and other emergency service.

Cancellation and nonrefundable reservations

  • Flexible Rate:

  • Guests may cancel their reservations until 16:00, two days prior to arrival, without penalty. Cancellations made after this deadline will incur a full charge.

  • Nonrefundable rate:

  • Has very clear international terms and conditions and that is why nonrefundable offers better prices. The total amount will be charge soon after the confirmation without a refund.

  • Note! We are happy to offer all our nonrefundable guests one time for free to move the dates as they whish to the same price as the original reservation. It is always a good idea to make sure you have good and valid insurance in your travels and make sure they cover cost like accommodation that you can not arrive to due to unexpected circumstances. Therefor we encourage our guests to contact their personal insurance company for a refund in case of emergency of personal matters, bad weather or blocked roads.
